Information for Authors
-
1. Submissions
-
Authors are required to submit their manuscripts (PDF only) to IJBSCHS (International Journal of Biomedical Soft Computing and Human Sciences)
through online submission system (See submission button on the left of this page),
and the file size should be less than 5M, normally. In general, a decision on the article will be made after peer-review, within 2 months from the receipt of the manuscript. Articles will generally be published within 6 months after acceptance.
-
2. Copyright
-
Authors take the full responsibility to ensure that manuscripts submitted to IJBSCHS have not been published, have not been copyrighted, and will not be submitted or published elsewhere in English or any other language. Upon acceptance of an article, the author(s) agrees that the copyright (copyright-form) for the article will be transferred to the publisher.
-
3. Types of Submissions
-
Manuscripts with exceptionally important new research results less than 8 Journal pages will be considered for Short Notes. High-quality research investigations that present new and significant contributions (up to 20 printed pages or with permission of Editor-in-Chief) will be considered as Full-length Paper. Invited Articles will be solicited by the Editorial Office. Letters to the Editor are encouraged to submit for presenting comments on papers published in the Journal and other matters of interest to association members. Special Issue covers various topics of interest to association members.
-
4. Peer Review Process
-
For any type of submissions, the same peer review criteria and acceptance standards will be followed. All submitted manuscripts will be reviewed initially by one of the editors for the eligibility of publication. Some manuscripts would be rejected without peer review if they are not sufficiently novel, reasonable or of limited interest to the readers of the journal. After prescreen, other manuscripts are sent to experts for peer review. Generally, two experts in related fields will be consulted. A third expert will be consulted if inconsistent recommendations from the two referees are given. The final decision of a submitted manuscript lies with the Editor-in-Chief.
-
5. Manuscript Layout
-
Manuscripts should be typed in a single spaced format in English in two columns with wide margins. Number each page at the top. The first page should include the article title, author's full names and affiliation, abstract and keywords. The abstract should be no more than 200 words, including the objective of the study, methods, results, and significance to stress the problem being talked about.
-
An article should generally begin with an introduction which fully covers the literature and scope of the paper. Your article should be divided into clearly numbered sections. A conclusion or discussion section should be given.
-
Each table should be provided with an explanatory heading with units of measure clearly indicated. Tables and illustrations (along with their footnotes or captions) should be completely intelligible without reference to the text. Figures should be high-quality professionally drawn, high-resolution computer generated, or glossy, high-contrast, black and white photographs.
-
References should be placed at the end of the main text. All in-text citations (references) should be listed in order, that is, [1], [3,4], [6-9], etc. In the References, each citation should be written in the order of appearance in the text. The normal form of listed references is author's surname, initials; article title; journal name (abbreviated in accordance with the World List of Scientific Periodicals, 4th edn); volume number; issue number; page numbers; year. Any appendix should be located after the Reference section.
-
When submitting final version of the paper, please use the IJBSCHS style files for preparation (Template file: PDF file, Word file). If accepted papers are written by LaTex, the authors will be requested to provide the LaTex source files of the paper and the macros used. If you have any questions concerning the use of this file in preparing your paper, please contact the editorial office.
-
6. Page Charges/Offprint
-
The charge amount for each accepted article is JPY5,000/per monochrome page; JPY10,000/per color page. A free copy of the journal with a CD containing the accepted paper will be sent to the author after the page charge is honored. Further offprint can be only ordered at extra cost at the proof stage.
